Goals

• Develop early treatment protocols for establishing a region specific early treatment plan for stroke patients
• Create and maintain a regional Stroke Registry
• Make training available for all personnel from EMS, hospitals and dispatch departments
• Provide community education and awareness focused primarily on stroke recognition and treatment

Meetings: The Acute Care Committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Purpose: The Acute Care Committee organizes collaborative efforts of EMS and hospitals to assure timely and appropriate stroke care, emphasizing rapid transport and early treatment of stroke patients within Region J.
